Preview: Oakwood Panthers vs. Scurry-Rosser Wildcats
The Oakwood Panthers will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against the Scurry-Rosser Wildcats at 11:00 a.m. on December 7th. Hopefully Oakwood focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Saturday.
Last Saturday, Oakwood took their contest on the road with ease, bagging a 51-16 win over Apple Springs. With Oakwood ahead 31-11 at the half, the match was all but over already.
Jacee Youngblood continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 29 points and 12 rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of Oakwood's points. Another player making a difference was Rai'Miaya Winston, who scored 17 points along with 7 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Scurry-Rosser had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They strolled past Ennis with points to spare on Saturday, taking the game 47-32. The victory was just what Scurry-Rosser needed coming off of a 65-34 defeat in their prior contest.
The victory got Oakwood back to even at 2-2. As for Scurry-Rosser, their win bumped their record up to 2-5.
