Basketball Recap: Vision Skates Past Riverstone International with Ease

A well-balanced attack led Vision over Riverstone International in every quarter on their way to victory on Tuesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Vision blew the Riverstone International Otters out of the water with a 54-24 final score. Vision has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five contests by 30 points or more this season.

Leading Vision to victory were Raelynn Nickel and Aubrie Parrish. Nickel posted 16 points in addition to eight steals and seven assists, while Parrish dropped a double-double on 18 points and 20 rebounds. Nickel is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 30 games she's played dating back to last season. Lexi Anderson was another key player, putting up six points and five steals.

They weren't the only one working in the assists department: Vision was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in January of 2024.

Vera Brooks and Lily Simmonds certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Brooks earned eight points, while Simmonds had six points.

The win was the fifth in a row for Vision, bringing their record for this year to 8-7. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 25.6 points per game. As for Riverstone International, their loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Vision will welcome Victory Charter at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Riverstone International, they will host Notus at 6:00 p.m. on January 29th.
