Softball Game Preview: Bishop McDevitt Crusaders vs. Central Dauphin East Panthers

The Bishop McDevitt Crusaders are taking a road trip to face off against the Central Dauphin East Panthers at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Monday just wasn't the day for Bishop McDevitt's offense. They came up short against Lower Dauphin on Monday, falling 10-0. The Crusaders haven't had much luck with the Falcons recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Meanwhile, Central Dauphin East was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 21-1 to Hershey.

Gabriela Paul made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with two doubles and one RBI.

Central Dauphin East's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Bishop McDevitt, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.

Everything went Bishop McDevitt's way against Central Dauphin East in their previous matchup back in May of 2023, as Bishop McDevitt made off with a 15-5 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Bishop McDevitt since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
