Basketball Game Preview: Wethersfield Eagles vs. Maloney Spartans

Wethersfield and Maloney are an even 4-4 against one another since December of 2014, but not for long. The Wethersfield Eagles will welcome the Maloney Spartans at 6:45 p.m. on Monday. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Last Friday, Wethersfield had to suffer through a 80-28 loss at the hands of Glastonbury. The game marked the Eagles' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Meanwhile, Maloney was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Saturday as they fell 55-51 to Harding. The Spartans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Maloney's defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Wethersfield, their loss was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-4.

Wethersfield came up short against Maloney when the teams last played back in February of 2024, falling 77-65. Can Wethersfield avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
