Baseball Recap: Christian Kobayashi's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Von Steuben over Ogden International

Von Steuben was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 7-6 to Ogden International, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Panthers of the 3-2 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Von Steuben saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Christian Kobayashi, who scored a run while going 1-for-4. Another was Axel Rivera, who scored a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Von Steuben's record is now 5-5-2. As for Ogden International, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-2.

Coming up, Ogden International will square off against Rich Township at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Von Steuben will be paying especially close attention to Ogden International's game: after Ogden International faces off against the Raptors, they'll take on Von Steuben again at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
