Baseball Recap: Bayside Triumphs

Bayside's game on Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 6-0 margin over the Sebastian River Sharks. The win continues a trend for the Bears in their matchups with the Sharks: they've now won three in a row.

Riley Ramroop made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over six innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March of 2025.

In other batting news, Justin Soto was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run. Those two hits gave him a new career-high. Steven Soto also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Bayside's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Sebastian River, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-2-1.

Looking ahead, Bayside will head out on the road to face off against Heritage at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Sebastian River, they will square off against Lincoln Park Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
