Softball Recap: Macon County Tigers vs. Central Wildcats
Macon County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They took a 6-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Central Wildcats. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest runs Macon County has scored all season.
For Central's part, Peyton Benson was excellent, scoring a run while going 3-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Mycah Beth Ray, who went 1-for-3 with a triple, a stolen base, and a run.
Macon County's defeat ended a seven-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 1-5. As for Central, they pushed their record up to 11-11 with that victory, which was their third straight at home.
Macon County is on the road again on Tuesday to play Portland at 5:00 a.m. As for Central, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 4-2 win vs. Kaneland on the 27th.
