Despite the loss, Kearney had strong showings from Brooke Paalhar, who scored 12 points along with three steals, and Jojo Kutch, who scored ten points along with six rebounds and four steals. Addison Taylor was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with six assists.
Smithville's record now sits at 18-5. As for Kearney, their loss was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 6-17.
Everything went Smithville's way against Kearney in their previous meeting back in March of 2023 as Smithville made off with a 44-23 win.
