Softball Recap: Union County Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Union County, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They walked away with an 8-3 win over the Edinburgh Lancers on Saturday.

Kamora Klingman spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on six hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Ally Gray and Harly Pilgrim did most of the damage at the plate: Gray went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs, while Pilgrim went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI Gray has posted since back in May of 2024.

Union County pushed their record up to 4-6 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.3 runs over those games. As for Edinburgh, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-5.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Union County beat the Lancers by a score of 11-6 later that day.
