Basketball Game Preview: Gerstell Academy vs. Severn School Admirals

Gerstell Academy is preparing for their first region matchup of the season on Friday. They will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against the Severn School Admirals at 5:30 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Gerstell Academy is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 65 points last Saturday, they were much more limited against Saint James on Tuesday. They lost 54-30 to the Saints. The matchup marked Gerstell Academy's lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Meanwhile, Severn School was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Saturday as they fell 69-63 to Southern Maryland Christian Academy. The Admirals have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Gerstell Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Severn School, their loss dropped their record down to 4-4.

Gerstell Academy came up short against Severn School in their previous matchup back in January, falling 49-39. Can Gerstell Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
