Basketball Recap: Highlands Comes Up Short

Highlands lost against Cooper back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Highlands Bluebirds fell 58-45 to the Cooper Jaguars. While losing is never fun, the Bluebirds can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky basketball rankings (they are ranked 68th, while the Jaguars are ranked ninth).

Highlands has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 18-13 record this season. The victory (which was Cooper's sixth in a row) raised their record to 21-5.

Highlands does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Cooper, they will square off against Covington Catholic at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Cooper's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 17 contests.
