Basketball Recap: Bastrop Falls Despite Big Games from Keyaira Limuel and Navaeh Jones

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Bastrop couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. The game between them and the Rudder Rangers didn't end well, with the Bastrop Bears falling 73-54.

Bastrop's loss on Tuesday came despite strong showings from Navaeh Jones and Keyaira Limuel. Jones dropped a double-double with 16 points and 12 boards, while Limuel dropped a double-double with 21 points and 12 rebounds. Jones has been hot for a while, having posted nine or more boards the last 20 times she's played.

Even though they lost, Bastrop smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 13 offensive rebounds in six consecutive matches.

Bastrop's defeat dropped their record down to 34-5. As for Rudder, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 15-11.

Bastrop does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Rudder has already played their next contest (against Barbers Hill), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
