Football Recap: Port Barre Takes a Loss

Port Barre extended their losing streak to three on Thursday, dropping them down to 2-3. They took a blow against the South Beauregard Knights, falling 48-14. The Red Devils were not able to make up for their defeat to the Knights from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

As for South Beauregard, their record now sits at 2-3. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

South Beauregard's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jacob Marcantel, who rushed for 111 yards and one TD. Marcantel's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his fourth straight game with at least 111 rushing yards. Another signal caller making a difference was Walker Langton, who threw for 223 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Port Barre will challenge Avoyelles at 7:00 p.m. on the 10th. This will be the Red Devils' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for South Beauregard, they will host Kinder at 7:00 p.m. on the 10th.
