After a string of seven wins, Westwood's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 62-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Loyalton Grizzlies. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lumberjacks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 53-37 back in December of 2024.

Loyalton found their leader in sophomore Ryland Martinetti, who posted 22 points. Another player making a difference was Ace Armstrong, who earned 11 points.

Westwood's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-5. As for Loyalton, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-9 record this season.

Westwood has already played their next matchup, a 71-42 victory against Surprise Valley on the 13th. As for Loyalton, they will challenge Elk Creek at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Loyalton is facing Elk Creek at the right time seeing as Elk Creek is stuck on an eight-game losing streak.
