Softball Recap: St. Clair Comes Up Short

After soaring to 17 runs the game before, St. Clair was a bit more limited in their matchup on Thursday. They fell just short of the Almont Raiders by a score of 2-1. The Saints were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Raiders apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2021.

Maliyah Smith was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.

St. Clair's defeat dropped their record down to 17-4-2. As for Almont, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-6-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. Clair will welcome L'Anse Creuse North at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Almont, they will be playing at home against Algonac at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
