Recap: Dawson Eagles vs. Alief Elsik Rams
The Dawson Eagles's game last Friday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They enjoyed a cozy 52-38 victory over Alief Elsik. Given Dawson's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 58th, while Alief Elsik is ranked 496th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Alief Elsik's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tim Ofesi, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds and four steals. Ofesi is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last eight games he's played. Another player making a difference was Ricky Wilson, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds.
Dawson's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 19-7. As for Alief Elsik, their loss dropped their record down to 8-13.
Dawson will be playing at home against Alvin at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Alvin focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Wednesday. As for Alief Elsik, they will head out on the road to square off against Alief Taylor at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
