Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Christian Thompson and Andrew Mcbroom Lead Freedom Christian Academy to Victory

Hoke County came into Thursday's match looking for another win against Freedom Christian Academy, but Jake Lawson wouldn't allow it. The Patriots put the hurt on the Bucks with a sharp 3-0 win on Thursday thanks in part to Lawson, who had 20 assists and 12 digs. He is on a roll when it comes to assists, as he's now posted 12 or more in each of the last three games he's played.

Freedom Christian Academy was especially dominant in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-16, 25-19.

Leading Freedom Christian Academy to victory were Andrew McBroom and Christian Thompson. McBroom had 12 digs, while Thompson had 14 digs, seven kills, four aces, and one block. Those seven kills gave Thompson a new career-high. Adrian Hopson also deserves some recognition as he posted his first assists of the season.

Freedom Christian Academy's record is now 7-8. As for Hoke County, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-8.

Freedom Christian Academy and Hoke County will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next contests. The next time the Patriots see the court they'll take on Village Christian Academy at 4:30 p.m. on May 2. As for Hoke County, their break will end when they face Fayetteville Academy at 5:15 p.m. on the 30th.
