Baseball Recap: Wahkiakum Takes a Loss

Wahkiakum came into their game on Wednesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Rainier Mountaineers, falling 14-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Mules have suffered since March 25th.

Cooper Carlson was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Parker Leitz was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Wahkiakum's defeat dropped their record down to 9-3. As for Rainier, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-10 record this season.

Wahkiakum will square off against Ilwaco at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Rainier, they will face off against Rochester at 3:00 p.m. on Friday.
