Baseball Recap: Bluejacket Takes a Loss

After flying high against Welch last Tuesday, Bluejacket came back down to earth. The Bluejacket Chieftains came up short against the Quapaw Wildcats on Thursday, falling 16-2. The defeat continues a trend for the Chieftains in their meetings with the Wildcats: they've now lost four in a row.

Colton Cochran was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, one double, and one RBI.

Even though they lost, Bluejacket was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .375 or higher in three consecutive matchups.

Bluejacket suffered their first home loss, dropping their record down to 6-2. As for Quapaw, they moved to 3-5 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. After both having extra time off, Bluejacket and Barnsdall will dust off their jerseys to take on one another at 6:00 p.m. on March 24th. As for Quapaw, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Quapaw Wildcats duke it out with Commerce Tigers at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday.
