League recap: Souhegan extends winning streak with victory over ConVal

Souhegan extended the longest winning streak in Division III this week by beating ConVal, 35-6. The win marks fourth in a row for the the Sabers.

Pembroke took down Merrimack Valley 40-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.

The Cougars' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Noah Powers threw for 30 yards and Jeremy Doubleday had 30 yards receiving. On the ground Doubleday chipped in 79 yards.

ConVal's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Cougars feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Riordan McCole has thrown for 185 yards this season, while Doubleday has 10 catches for 113 yards. Chris Queen leads the league in rushing with 399 yards.

A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Spartans take on Souhegan. Pembroke is currently in fourth, while Mike Beliveau's team is in first.

Milford made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 7,302 from 8,728. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 35-7 victory over Alvirne last week.
