Volleyball Recap: Southwest Guilford's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Wednesday

Southwest Guilford suffered their biggest defeat since September 18th on Wednesday. They lost 3-0 to the Grimsley Whirlies. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Whirlies this season, with their most recent loss being a 3-0 defeat back in September.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-11, 25-11.

Leading Grimsley to victory were Morgan Falk and Jasmine Clark. Falk had 20 digs and one assist, while Clark had ten digs and four aces.

The loss snapped Southwest Guilford's winning streak at five matches and leaves them with a 17-11 record. As for Grimsley, they are on a roll lately: they've won 16 of their last 17 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 26-8 record this season.

Southwest Guilford wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Hopewell on the 18th. As for Grimsley, they will host Butler at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
