Baseball Game Preview: Ridgeview Panthers vs. Sandalwood Saints

The Ridgeview Panthers will take on the Sandalwood Saints at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Ridgeview has given up an average of 7.2 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Ridgeview came into their game on Wednesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 14-8 to Christian Academy of Knoxville.

Clayton Gulbrand made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of James Norton, who scored a run while going 1-for-1.

Meanwhile, after a string of six wins, Sandalwood's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They fell 5-1 to Ponte Vedra.

Sandalwood saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Preston Cox, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI. Joseph Navarro also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Ridgeview has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season. Sandalwood's defeat dropped their record down to 9-5.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Ridgeview has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.9 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Sandalwood struggles in that department as they've been averaging 2.9 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
