Recap: Brookfield Bobcats vs. Masuk Panthers
The Brookfield Bobcats lost against the Masuk Panthers back in November of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Brookfield fell 31-20 to Masuk. It was the first time this season that Brookfield let down their fans at home.
Brookfield's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performance. Perhaps the best among them was Michael Walters, who rushed for 118 yards. Walters was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 62 yards. Another player making a difference was Carter Sacharewitz, who gained 40 total yards and two touchdowns.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Masuk to victory, but perhaps none more so than Gavin Walker, who picked up 166 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Rob Klein was another key contributor, throwing for 384 yards and three touchdowns.
Brookfield has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-4 record this season. As for Masuk, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season.
Brookfield will head out on the road to face off against Weston at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Weston comes in on a streak of failing to score more than seven points in their last three games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. As for Masuk, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against New Milford at 7:00 p.m.
