Football Recap: Cutter-Morning Star Has No Trouble Against Perryville

Cutter-Morning Star had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They walked away with a 30-22 victory over the Perryville Mustangs. That looming 30-22 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Eagles yet this season.

Cutter-Morning Star's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Brody Speers, who picked up 114 receiving yards and two touchdowns. The bulk of those receiving yards came from one huge play: a catch that gained an incredible 76 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Santiago Delrio, who gained 149 total yards and a touchdown.

Another reason for the win was Cutter-Morning Star's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for 14 sacks. Jackson McGlone led the group effort, picking up four of those sacks all by himself.

Despite the defeat, Perryville saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Hoyt Howard rushed for 46 yards and a pair of TDs, and also picked up 53 receiving yards.

Cutter-Morning Star's record now sits at 3-1. As for Perryville, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.
