Baseball Recap: Custer County Comes Up Short

Friday just wasn't the day for Custer County's offense. They lost 15-0 to the La Veta Redhawks on Friday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bobcats of the 17-7 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2024.

Custer County saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Taylor Bradford, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base.

Custer County now has a losing record of 7-8. As for La Veta, they have been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: La Veta beat Custer County by a score of 22-13 later that day.
