Softball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Flat Rock

Flat Rock entered their tilt with Bedford on Wednesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top against the Kicking Mules by a score of 6-3. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Emma Neace spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on ten hits.

At the plate, Flat Rock let Sarah Giroux and Faith Soden run wild. Giroux went 2-for-3 with one home run and two runs, while Soden went 2-for-3 with one home run and two runs. That's the most runs Soden has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Jaclynn Motyka, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Flat Rock lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Flat Rock's victory bumped their record up to 12-10-1. As for Bedford, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-7.

Coming up, Flat Rock will venture away from home to square off against Jefferson at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Bedford, they will take on Saline at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Kicking Mules 4.1, the Hornets 2.1) so any runs scored will be well earned.
