Baseball Recap: Kearsley Hornets vs. Imlay City Spartans
Kearsley couldn't beat Imlay City on Friday even though they stacked four runs on them in the third inning. The Hornets fell just short of the Spartans by a score of 5-4. The Hornets' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.
Chase Tobias was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over four innings pitched. Furthermore, he didn't allow a single earned run, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in March. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and one stolen base. That home run was his first of the season.
Tobias wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Kamdin Lyle, who went 1-for-2 with one double.
