Recap: Castleberry Lions vs. Decatur Eagles
The Castleberry Lions's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their eighth straight loss. They were outmatched by Decatur at home and fell 88-4. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Castleberry has scored all season.
Decatur's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Renlee Longenbaugh, who scored 16 points along with seven steals. That's the first time this season that Longenbaugh scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Bralyn Peck, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 11 rebounds.
Castleberry has not been sharp recently, as they've lost 13 of their last 15 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-17 record this season. As for Decatur, they pushed their record up to 21-5 with that win, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Castleberry will take on Lake Worth at 6:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Lake Worth is coming into the match on a six-game losing streak. As for Decatur, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Krum at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Krum is coming into the contest hot, having won their last five games.
