Baseball Game Preview: Highlands Ranch Falcons vs. Westminster Wolves

The Highlands Ranch Falcons will head out to take on the Westminster Wolves at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. Highlands Ranch has given up an average of 10.9 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Highlands Ranch is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They fell 22-17 to Lewis-Palmer on Thursday. The Falcons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Highlands Ranch got a massive performance out of Andrew Dibling, who went 3-for-4 with four runs, four RBI, and one stolen base. Dibling is becoming a predictor of the Falcons' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 2-1 (and 0-7 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Austin Benner, who went 3-for-5 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Meanwhile, Westminster suffered their biggest defeat since March 10th on Tuesday. They came up short against Riverdale Ridge, falling 10-2. The Wolves have struggled against the Ravens recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Adrian Moreno made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played.

Westminster now has a losing record of 5-6. As for Highlands Ranch, their loss dropped their record down to 2-8.

Highlands Ranch skirted past Westminster 9-7 in their previous matchup back in March of 2019. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Falcons since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
