Basketball Recap: Bard Early College Comes Up Short

On Wednesday, the Bard Early College Raptors took a blow against the Beachwood Bison, falling 43-11. That's two games in a row now that the Raptors have lost by exactly 32 points.

Leading Beachwood to victory were Goldi Aschkenasy and Lexi Jaffe. Aschkenasy almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine boards, while Jaffe went 5 of 12 on her way to 12 points in addition to five rebounds and four steals. Aschkenasy is also on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now posted two or more in the last 14 games she's played. Zo? Walters was another key player, putting up four points and three steals.

Bard Early College has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season. As for Beachwood, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-8.

Coming up, Bard Early College will be taking part in a tournament against Streetsboro at 1:00 p.m. on February 15th. Streetsboro will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Bard Early College surely won't give up without a fight. As for Beachwood, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 72-40 win against Glenville on the 7th.
