Basketball Game Preview: Airport Eagles vs. Midland Valley Mustangs

The Airport Eagles are taking a road trip to face off against the Midland Valley Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Airport's defense has only allowed 29.2 points per game this season, so Midland Valley's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Airport is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering River Bluff just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Saturday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 45-44 to the Gators.

Meanwhile, Midland Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were dealt a 68-36 loss at the hands of Josey. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 194th in South Carolina, while the Eagles are ranked 21st in Georgia).

Airport's defeat dropped their record down to 8-5. As for Midland Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 3-9.

Airport didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Midland Valley when the teams last played back in January of 2024, but they still walked away with a 47-41 win. Will Airport repeat their success, or does Midland Valley have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
