Basketball Recap: Great Bridge Comes Up Short

Great Bridge was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They fell 50-43 to the Hickory Hawks. The Wildcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Hawks apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

Great Bridge's loss dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Hickory, their win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 4-7.

Great Bridge won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Cape Henry Collegiate at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Hickory, they will head out on the road to take on Grassfield at 7:30 p.m. on January 17th.
