Basketball Recap: Dakota Valley Drops Season-High Score on Tri-Valley

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Dakota Valley). They blew past the Tri-Valley Mustangs 88-56 on Friday. The Panthers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matches by 27 points or more this season.

Dakota Valley had a senior duo take command as Logan Collette went 8 of 14 en route to 25 points in addition to five assists and five boards and Luke Bruns went 7 for 14 on his way to 26 points and eight rebounds. The contest was Bruns' 12th in a row with at least ten points. Drew Lukken was another key player, putting up eight points and seven rebounds.

Dakota Valley was working as a unit and finished the game with 21 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in February of 2024.

The victory made it two in a row for Dakota Valley and bumps their season record up to 9-2. As for Tri-Valley, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-7.

Dakota Valley didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 62-54 defeat against St. Thomas More on the 25th. As for Tri-Valley, they will host Canton at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Tri-Valley is facing Canton at the right time seeing as Canton is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
