Liberty Common hasn't had much luck against Platte Valley recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Eagles will head out on the road to square off against the Broncos at 3:30 p.m. Platte Valley took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Liberty Common, who comes in off a win.
Liberty Common made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Valley, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Eagles never let the Vikings get on the board and left with a 7-0 win on Monday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Eagles as it put an end to their five-game losing streak.

Roman Galindo made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run over seven innings pitched. Galindo was also solid in the batter's box, scoring three runs while going 3-for-4. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Owen Hood, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. Liberty Common is undefeated when Hood posts two or more runs, but 2-7 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryson Weibler, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base.
Liberty Common kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Monday just wasn't the day for Platte Valley's offense. They came up short against Resurrection Christian on Monday, falling 8-0. The Broncos have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Platte Valley's loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 9-5. As for Liberty Common, their record now sits at 5-7.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Wednesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Liberty Common has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.5 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Platte Valley struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.1 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Liberty Common might still be hurting after the 16-0 defeat they got from Platte Valley in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
