Baseball Game Preview: Mountain View Thunder vs. Heritage Timberwolves

For the second straight game, Mountain View will face off against Heritage. The Thunder will head out on the road to face off against the Timberwolves at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Mountain View was handed a nine-run defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Monday. They skirted past Heritage 5-3. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Thunder as it put an end to their six-game losing streak.

Nick Wilcox was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching seven innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five). He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

In other batting news, Brendon Lawson was excellent, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in May of 2024. Legend Haskew also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Heritage dropped their record down to 4-7 with the loss, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Mountain View, their win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 3-8.
