Softball Recap: San Marcos Takes a Loss

San Marcos extended their losing streak to eight on Friday, dropping them down to 6-13. They lost 15-2 to the East Central Hornets. The Rattlers were not able to make up for their defeat to the Hornets from their previous meeting back in April of 2025.

As for East Central, they pushed their record up to 22-2 with the victory, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

For East Central's part, Emma Williamson spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on seven hits and racked up seven Ks. Those seven strikeouts set a new season-high mark for Williamson.

At the plate, East Central let Morgan Glorioso and Marissa Delgado run wild. Glorioso went 3-for-5 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Delgado went 2-for-5 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI Glorioso has posted since back in February. Gianna Martinez also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. San Marcos is set to take on their familiar foe Judson at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, East Central will challenge rival Canyon at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
