Basketball Game Preview: Franklin Wildcats vs. Madison Mohawks

The Franklin Wildcats will square off against the Madison Mohawks at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Franklin has six straight victories, Madison has ten straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Franklin will bounce into Friday's match after beating Bishop Fenwick, who they had gone 0-3 against in their three prior meetings. Franklin managed a 62-56 win over Bishop Fenwick on Friday. Given the Wildcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 114th, while the Falcons are ranked 565th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Franklin had a senior duo take command as Lincoln Clark went 6 for 9 on his way to 14 points in addition to five boards and four steals and Kai Cook posted 24 points and five boards. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Clark has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kendol Roberts, who had nine points.

Meanwhile, Madison played a tough game on Saturday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against Talawanda, falling 81-56. The Mohawks were down 69-48 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Franklin's victory bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Madison, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-6.
