Basketball Game Preview: Wilcox Chargers vs. Washington Eagles

Two dominant guards in Brayden Rosa and Korey Abantao are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Wilcox Chargers and the Washington Eagles will face off at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played.

Wilcox is headed into Saturday's contest hungry for a win as their strong season has now been derailed by two straight losses. They had to suffer through a 77-38 loss at the hands of Los Gatos. The game marked the Chargers' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Meanwhile, Washington entered their tilt with Wallenberg on Friday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They took their contest with ease, bagging an 87-39 win over the Bulldogs. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five games by 20 points or more this season.

Wilcox's defeat dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Washington, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season.

Wilcox and Washington were neck-and-neck in their previous matchup back in December of 2021, but Wilcox came up empty-handed after a 55-54 loss. Thankfully for Wilcox, Zion Deloatch (who posted 19 points in addition to six rebounds and six blocks) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
