            The Shafter Generals are taking a road trip to  challenge the Chavez Titans  at 7:30  p.m.  on Thursday. Shafter knows how to get  points on the board -- the  team has finished with 31 points or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Chavez likes a good challenge.
If Chavez heads into halftime all tied up, they better play a good second half: that's when Shafter took over last week. The Generals came out on top against Kennedy by a score of  42-35  on Friday. The  win continues a trend for the Generals in their matchups with the Thunderbirds: they've now won three in a row.

 Meanwhile,  there's no place like home for Chavez, who bounced back after a  loss on the road  last Friday. In a tight  matchup that could have gone either way, they made off with  a  27-26 victory over Delano. The Titans' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most  points they've scored all season.
 Chavez's  win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 2-6. As for Shafter, their record is now 7-1.
 Everything came up roses for Shafter against Chavez in their previous meeting  back in October of 2024, as the  squad secured  a  56-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Generals since the  team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
