Soccer Recap: Shepherd Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Shepherd was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 14th straight loss. They came up short against the Standish-Sterling Panthers, falling 8-0. While losing is never fun, Shepherd can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan soccer rankings (they are ranked 451st, while Standish-Sterling are ranked 174th).

Shepherd's defeat dropped their record down to 1-15. As for Standish-Sterling, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Shepherd will host Fairview at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Shepherd will be up against Fairview's rather soft defense (which has allowed six goals per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Standish-Sterling, they will take on Ogemaw Heights at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
