Softball Recap: Colleyville Heritage Continues Home Dominance on Wednesday

Colleyville Heritage's game last Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Richland Royals by a score of 9-6. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Royals recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Sammie Pham made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off seven hits. Those eight strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Colleyville Heritage let Karsyn M and Myka Riley run wild. M went 1-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run, while Riley scored two runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. That triple marked the first that M hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kira Miller, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Colleyville Heritage pushed their record up to 10-8-1 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.8 runs over those games. As for Richland, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-6-2.

Coming up, Colleyville Heritage will challenge Grapevine at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Colleyville Heritage's pitchers better be ready for this one: Grapevine has averaged an impressive 6.2 runs per game this season. As for Richland, they will head out to challenge Argyle at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
