Softball Recap: Elyria Catholic Panthers vs. Rocky River Pirates        
        
		
            
 Elyria Catholic waltzed into their matchup  on Wednesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came out on top against the Rocky River Pirates by a score of  6-2. That's more bragging rights for Elyria Catholic, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.
  Jessica Conner was  incredible,  going 2-for-4 with a  home run, two  runs,  and a  stolen base. Another player making a difference was  Lillian Ciryak, who  scored two  runs while  getting on base  in three of her four plate appearances.
 On Rocky River's side,  Ava Mae DeMooy was a  force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she  pitched six innings while giving up just two earned  (and four unearned) runs off   six  hits.
 Elyria Catholic's win was  their eighth straight at home, which  pushed their record up to 13-5. As for Rocky River, their loss  ended  a  four-game streak of away wins  and  brought them to 11-9.
 Both  teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Elyria Catholic's homestand will continue as they prepare to take on Perkins at 5:00  p.m.  on Thursday. Rocky River will take on Geneva at 5:00  p.m.  on Thursday. Geneva is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.2  runs per game  this season.
