The Volcano Vista Hawks are taking a road trip to challenge the Cleveland Storm at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Volcano Vista is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season.

Volcano Vista is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of New Mexico's top teams: Farmington, who was ranked tenth at the time (Volcano Vista was ranked eighth). The Hawks won by a run and slipped past the Scorpions 4-3. The victory continues a trend for the Hawks in their matchups with the Scorpions: they've now won four in a row.

Volcano Vista's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Noah Massey, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI.

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Cleveland and Piedra Vista, and Piedra Vista kept the tradition alive. The Storm fell 4-1 to the Panthers on Tuesday. The matchup marked the Storm's lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Volcano Vista's victory bumped their record up to 12-7. As for Cleveland, they moved to 13-6 with that loss, which also ended their five-game winning streak.
