Basketball Game Preview: East Wake Warriors vs. Chapel Hill Tigers

The East Wake Warriors will be taking part in a tournament against the Chapel Hill Tigers at 12:30 p.m. on Friday. East Wake comes in still looking for their first win of the season.

On Tuesday, East Wake came up short against Clayton and fell 49-39.

East Wake's loss came about despite a quality game from Norman Eleby, who shot 63% from the field on his way to 12 points and six rebounds. Eleby also grabbed two steals, marking his first of the season. Caden Midgette was another key player, putting up 14 points and eight boards.

Meanwhile, Chapel Hill unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They fell just short of Knightdale by a score of 50-47 last Tuesday.

Despite the defeat, Chapel Hill saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Makhai Manning went 5-for-10 en route to 18 points. Another player making a difference was Jeremiah 'Juice' McIlwaine, who posted nine points and five rebounds.

East Wake's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Chapel Hill, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.
