Basketball Game Preview: First Presbyterian Day Vikings vs. Tattnall Square Academy Trojans

The First Presbyterian Day Vikings just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Tattnall Square Academy Trojans at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. First Presbyterian Day has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the contest with six straight losses, while Tattnall Square Academy will come in with four straight wins.

On Thursday, First Presbyterian Day ended up a good deal behind Windsor Academy and lost 61-44.

Despite the defeat, First Presbyterian Day saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Jones Handberry posted 21 points.

Meanwhile, Tattnall Square Academy won against Trinity Christian on Monday with 66 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Tuesday. Tattnall Square Academy skirted past Mount de Sales Academy 66-64. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Trojans have posted since January 5, 2024.

Tattnall Square Academy pushed their record up to 12-2 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.0 points per game. As for First Presbyterian Day, their loss dropped their record down to 3-12.

First Presbyterian Day was dealt a bruising 89-57 defeat at the hands of Tattnall Square Academy in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. Can First Presbyterian Day avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
