Preview: Chattanooga Prep Sentinels vs. Sale Creek Panthers
Chattanooga Prep is 4-0 against Sale Creek since January of 2023, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Monday. The Chattanooga Prep Sentinels will head out on the road to take on the Sale Creek Panthers at 7:30 p.m. Chattanooga Prep will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
Last Tuesday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Chattanooga Prep beat South Pittsburg 54-48.
Chattanooga Prep's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Ta'Suade Williams, who scored 17 points along with five assists, and Derrick Roberson, who scored 22 points along with seven rebounds and seven blocks. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Roberson has scored all season.
Meanwhile, Sale Creek fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against Berean Academy on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 67-64. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Chattanooga Prep is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season. As for Sale Creek, their defeat dropped their record down to 17-11.
Everything came up roses for Chattanooga Prep against Sale Creek when the teams last played last Friday as the squad secured a 69-29 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Chattanooga Prep since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
