Softball Game Preview: Red Hook Raiders vs. Highland Huskies

The Red Hook Raiders will venture away from home to face off against the Highland Huskies at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday.

Red Hook came into this matchup off a tough seven-run loss on Tuesday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of Wallkill by a score of 3-1 on Wednesday. The Raiders have struggled against the Panthers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.

Meanwhile, Highland never let their opponents score on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 6-0 margin over Dover. The result was nothing new for the Huskies, who have now won seven matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Highland has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.1 runs over those games. As for Red Hook, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-11.
