Softball Game Preview: Pendleton County Wildcats vs. Mason County Royals

The Pendleton County Wildcats will head out on the road to take on the Mason County Royals at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Harrison County hit Pendleton County with a four-run second inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Wildcats fell just short of the Thorobreds/Fillies by a score of 5-3. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Mason County's offense. They came up short against Harrison County on Tuesday, falling 13-0. The Royals haven't had much luck with the Thorobreds/Fillies recently, as the team has come up short the last nine times they've met.

Pendleton County's defeat dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Mason County, their loss dropped their record down to 6-12-1.

Pendleton County skirted past Mason County 3-1 in their previous matchup back in May of 2025. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wildcats since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
