Basketball Game Preview: Arkport Central Bluejays vs. Canisteo-Greenwood Chargers

Arkport Central hasn't had much luck against Canisteo-Greenwood recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Arkport Central Bluejays will head out on the road to take on the Canisteo-Greenwood Chargers at 12:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Last Wednesday, Arkport Central got the win against Addison by a conclusive 66-40. The victory continues a trend for the Bluejays in their matchups with the Knights: they've now won six in a row.

Meanwhile, Canisteo-Greenwood had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 24 points) and they went ahead and made it six on Wednesday. They claimed a resounding 64-28 win over the Eagles. Given the Chargers' advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 236th, while the Eagles are ranked 906th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Arkport Central's record now sits at 8-5. As for Canisteo-Greenwood, their record is now 14-3.

Things could have been worse for Arkport Central, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 65-49 loss to Canisteo-Greenwood in their previous matchup two weeks ago. Can Arkport Central avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
