Volleyball Recap: Seward Bluejays vs. Ashland-Greenwood Bluejays

Seward was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of Ashland-Greenwood. Seward was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Ashland-Greenwood apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Seward actually scored more points across those five sets (104-103), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The final score came out to 20-25, 25-23, 25-18, 18-25, 15-13.

Jackie Eberspacher paced Seward's offense, picking up 18 kills. Eberspacher got some help from Taegan Weber and her 30 assists. Eberspacher and Weber didn't slow down when it came to serving: they led the team with four apiece.

Seward's defeat dropped their record down to 17-14. As for Ashland-Greenwood, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-7 record this season.

Seward does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Ashland-Greenwood, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Brownell Talbot on the 28th.
